- What does safetill actually do?
- It listens to your POS (Square today) for payments and refunds, and posts each one to Verkada Helix as a timestamped event on the camera you have pointed that till at. In Verkada Command you can then search by receipt total, item or till and jump straight to the frame.
- Do I need new hardware?
- No. safetill is a cloud connector between two APIs you already have: your POS and Verkada Command. Nothing is installed on the till or the camera.
- Which POS systems are supported?
- Square is available now. Clover, Toast, Lightspeed and Shopify POS are coming next and will use the same four-step setup.
- What do I need from Verkada?
- A Verkada Command API key with Helix (event) permissions and camera read access, plus your region (United States, Europe or Australia). safetill checks the key and counts your cameras as the first setup step.
- How are tills matched to cameras?
- You point each till at the camera that covers it, at the same location. One camera can watch several tills — a single overhead camera over three registers is fine — while each till sends to one camera. You set this in step 3 and can change it any time; sales on an unmapped till are recorded as skipped rather than guessed.
- A till isn't showing up in step 3. Why?
- Square only lists Terminal hardware through its API. Registers and iPads appear after their first sale (we also backfill a year of payment history on sync). You can add a till manually in the meantime.
- What happens if my Verkada key expires?
- Events queue instead of being lost, Health on the Activity page turns amber with a one-line explanation, and reconnecting on Connections resumes delivery.
- What's in the Free plan?
- One location, one till, one admin and unlimited transactions, forever. Pro is $35 per location per month for up to 10 tills per location and 10 admins, and you can add locations as you grow.
- When do I need Enterprise?
- When a location needs more than 10 tills, or you run more than 100 locations. Enterprise is priced per deployment with invoicing and a named contact — email sales@safetill.io or use the contact page and we will come back with a quote.
- Can one login manage several Verkada organizations?
- Yes. Each Verkada organization gets its own safetill workspace, and the same email can be an admin of several workspaces and switch between them.
- Do you see card numbers?
- Never. Card data stays inside your payment processor; safetill only receives the receipt-level fields (amount, items, till, time, tender type).
- Can I export my data?
- Yes — every transaction and its Helix delivery status can be exported as CSV, and offline sales can be imported the same way.
